Editorial Standards & Corrections Policy

These standards govern everything published on The Leavitt File. They are public so readers can hold us to them.

Sourcing

Every post ends with a list of the sources it was built from, linked directly to the original. Where a fact appears in only one outlet, we attribute it in the text to that outlet by name. Where outlets conflict, we say so rather than silently picking one. We do not use anonymous sourcing because we do not do original newsgathering — we have none to protect.

Separating fact from opinion

Factual claims are stated plainly and sourced. Opinion is signposted: sections headed “the take,” “the verdict,” “how to think about this,” and similar are the publication's judgment, not reporting. Where we make an argument, we also present the strongest version of the opposing argument — this is a standing rule, not a courtesy.

Coverage of living people

This series is about a named living public figure and the people around her. We report allegations as allegations, name who is making them, and include denials with equal prominence. We distinguish between what a person is documented to have said or done and what critics infer from it. Where a charge is contested and unresolved, we say it is unresolved rather than implying a conclusion.

AI disclosure

Research aggregation and first-draft writing on this site are AI-assisted. Every post is then verified against its linked sources and edited by a human editor before it publishes. No post appears without that review. We disclose this openly rather than presenting AI-assisted work as unassisted human writing.

Corrections policy

We correct errors promptly and visibly. If you believe something on this site is inaccurate, email techeternals25@gmail.com with the page, the specific claim, and any supporting source.

  • Factual errors are corrected in the text, with a dated correction note appended to the bottom of the post explaining what changed.
  • Significant errors — ones that change the meaning of a post — also get a note at the top of the post.
  • Typos and broken links are fixed silently.
  • We aim to respond to correction requests within five business days.
  • We do not remove accurate, sourced material on request, but we will publish a response from any person substantially discussed in our coverage.

Independence

No political campaign, party, PAC, advocacy group, or government body funds, reviews, or directs this publication. Advertising is sold programmatically and advertisers have no editorial influence. If that ever changes, this page changes first.
